CorePlus to Host “Senior Financial Scams” Seminar

What everyone needs to know! Did you know that out-of-pocket costs associated with senior financial scams and exploitation are estimated at $2.9 billion a year? And that’s on the low side because many cases go unreported.

As the net worth of seniors increases, so does the likelihood they’ll be targeted by con artists trying to strip them of their life savings. Senior scams are on the rise, but with proper prevention and education, we can reverse that trend.

To increase your odds that you or a loved one—or someone in your care—can avoid becoming a victim of financial exploitation, you need to know the facts. Your professional friends at CorePlus Credit Union can help.

Come to a FREE informational session on Tuesday, July 10th from 10:15am – 11:30am at the Franklin Senior Center, 5 Tyler Drive, Franklin, CT. There’s no cost to attend. At the seminar, you’ll find out how big the problem of financial exploitation is, who’s committing the crime, common examples of senior scams, how to recognize signs of abuse, what the long-term effects of exploitation are, how to prevent it, and where to go for help.

RSVP to [email protected], call 860-886-0576 x3622 or stop by any CorePlus Credit Union branch to register.  This event is FREE and open to the public.

Preface to the seminar, a must read!
