Welcome to CorePlus
CorePlus Federal Credit Union is a federally chartered, member owned, not for profit cooperative. CorePlus is a multiple common bond credit union with branches in northern and eastern Connecticut.
We were founded in 1936 when 27 educators organized the Norwich Connecticut Teachers Federal Credit Union. After several decades of growing assets and mergers with local employee credit unions, the Norwich Pequot Teachers Credit Union changed its name to CorePlus Federal Credit Union in 2001.
CorePlus operates with a mission statement emphasizing financial wellness for all. Our employees and board members are also committed to supporting our local communities through volunteering, providing annual support, and employee charitable account donations.

In 2026, CorePlus Credit Union earned the AARP BankSafe Trained Seal, reinforcing our commitment to protecting the financial well-being of older adults in the communities we serve. This recognition is awarded to institutions that complete AARP’s comprehensive BankSafe training and implement effective practices to identify and respond to potential elder financial exploitation.
At CorePlus, member care goes beyond everyday transactions. Most of our team has completed specialized BankSafe training, equipping them to recognize warning signs of fraud, ask informed questions, and take appropriate action. We have also enhanced our internal processes to promptly report and address suspicious activity while supporting members with respect and care.
We are proud to join financial institutions nationwide that share this commitment. Through the BankSafe program, CorePlus continues to foster a safe, trusted environment where members of all ages can feel confident in their financial future.
